Full Preterism
A) Views espoused by "Full Preterist" believers only.
B) According to available literature, this class did not emerge until the 20th century, although historically it can be seen as a natural progression in the development of systematic theology. This category includes believers from nearly every denomination.
C) Generally believes that all eschatology was accomplished in finality in the first century events surrounding the fall of Jerusalem and the end of the old Mosaic system. This is also known as "Covenant Eschatology"

Idealism Preterism
This class presents the growing trend among Modern and Historical Preterists to look beyond external events (such as AD70) to those greater spiritual realities which take place outside of the scope of history. This category (which represents PreteristArchive.com's native approach), which focuses on the "everlasting age" as the ultimate realm of fulfillment, has appeal to any person (whether Preterist, Futurist, Historicist) who is willing to see beyond history as the substance and fullness of prophecy.

Universalism Preterism
Universalist Preterism specifically focuses on the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 as being the exhaustion of God's judgment, and also being a fundamental proof of the universality of the world's presence in the "New Heavens and Earth" and "The Age About to Come" ever since that time.

Partial Preterism
The view believes that 70 ad was "a" coming, but not the Second Coming. That all the things that follow is yet future. This view is half Full Preterism and half Futurism.

Historism
A) Views espoused by partially but not fully Preterist believers.
B) This class begins near the turn of the first millennium, and the rise to today's contemporary "Partial Preterism" during the Reformation era in the hands of Grotius and Hammond.
C) Generally believes that some bible prophecy was fulfilled in totality in the first century, with some being fulfilled in the intervening centuries -- with yet even more to be finally accomplished in the future at "the end of the world".

Futurism
ALL prophecies will be fulfilled "literally" in our future. A) Views espoused by only marginally Preterist believers since the end of the "dark ages".
B) This class has been extensively systematized since the 19th century, but almost all fundamentally base their theology upon future expectations for the Church and Israel.
C) Generally believes that some Bible prophecy may have been fulfilled in the first century, but only to foreshadow final fulfillments in the future.
